Agriculture

  • VDO’s Sustainable Agriculture Development Program (1997-2001) trained over 12,700 farmers in modern and sustainable agricultural practices, while the Degraded Land Rehabilitation Project (1995-1996) restored degraded lands through tree planting and awareness campaigns, introducing the community to sustainable land-use practices. These early interventions demonstrated VDO’s commitment to environmental sustainability, community mobilization, and livelihood support.
  • PACR Program (2024-2026), Capacity-building remained central, with three Trainings of Trainers in Lahore and Faisalabad equipping 28 participants (14 male, 14 female), followed by four replication trainings that expanded outreach to 80 more participants. Overall, 185 direct beneficiaries-including farmers, students, and teachers-were trained on climate-smart agriculture, soil fertility, and mitigation of climate-induced risks, with indirect benefits extending to an estimated 2,775 community members across Ghotki District.
