The purposes of selecting the same districts and union councils are to keep a consistent, focused and intensive approach to development and addressing the climate issues. The focus will support to deepen the effects of social change that PLRP triggered over the past 12 years. PACR-I will further capitalize on the change factors including better connectivity of socially excluded families, economic resilience through assets and livelihood support, village organizations as viable platform for planning, implementation and voicing for change, and most importantly vocal and strong women leadership that is ready to address challenges of climate change. The following is the project focused area.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The program is reaching out to a total 3,385 families with a population coverage of approximately 18,000 (with 9,000 men and 9,000 women).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With the devastating impact of climate change, particularly after the 2010 flash floods, SAP and VDO shifted its focus to community resilience, adaptation and climate governance. As an active members of the National Humanitarian Network (NHN), SAP-PK and VDO has contributed significantly to national climate resilience efforts.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>PACR is grounded in three pillars:<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ol><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Climate Knowledge: Educating communities on climate issues. Skills and Capacities: Building local capacities to tackle climate challenges. Self-reliant Solutions: Developing and implementing small-scale, sustainable livelihood and economic resilience solutions.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The program emphasizes gender equality, climate justice, and inclusion, ensuring that women, youth, and marginalized groups, such as persons with disabilities and minority communities, are at the forefront of climate resilience initiatives.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With over 31 years of experience, VDO continues to prioritize community ownership, tailoring solutions to local needs, and integrating traditional knowledge to foster long-term sustainability.
